Singer-songwriter Conrad Sewell has won the Song Of The Year award at the ARIAs for his track Start Again.
Brisbane singer-songwriter Conrad Sewell says winning an ARIA for his song Start Again has been the best night of his life.
‘I just wasn’t expecting any of this,’ Sewell told reporters. ‘This is the best night of my life.’
‘This is all because of this man really,’ Sewell said, pointing to Ed Sheeran, who presented the award at The Star in Sydney on Thursday.
Sewell used his acceptance speech to thank his manager and label mates, his brother Oliver and sister Grace.
‘It’s taken me a minute to get here, by a minute I mean 27 years, thank you so much,’ Sewell said.
Artists in the running for the publicly voted award included Iggy Azalea, Jarryd James, Marlisa, Nathaniel, Peking Duk, Sia, The Veronicas and Vance Joy.
